The hardness or softness of your water will play a major role. Anyone who lives out of a suitcase such as myself will appreciate it. When you're finished your shave, the knot dries quicker too. Since the water sits in between the hairs they aid in building and holding that perfect lather. Well, I should say that they won't absorb water but the fibres hold water amongst themselves. Synthetic brushes are not natural and will not hold water. This will take longer than synthetic knot brushes. After your shave you'll have to give it a good rinse and set it out to dry. The hairs will absorb some water but you don't need to soak it for too long. You can hold it under the tap or set it in your bowl/mug for a minute or two. Use water that is just slightly hotter than warm. Not too hot as you could damage either the hairs, handle or both. Now there’s certainly nothing wrong with either but natural hair knots will have to absorb water in order to make that wonderful fluffy lather that provides you with that awesome close shave.īefore you start whipping up that lather you need to get the hairs wet. In fact, synthetic knots won’t absorb water at all. Natural hair will absorb water more than synthetic knots will.
